On February 10 the regular session of the Youth Parliament affiliated with the NA Standing Committee on Science, Education, Culture and Youth. According to the Rules of Procedure of the Youth Parliament, Chairperson Naira Tamamyan transferred the presidency to Tigran Grigoryan. He informed that 71 MPs participate at the works of the session. Before the beginning of the session, Hranush Hakobyan, Chairperson of the NA Standing Committee on Science, Education, Culture and Youth handed over a diploma to the youth organization after Nikol Aghbalyan.
The next issue of the agenda was the debate of the RA draft law on Lobbyist Activity. Ashot Abovyan, RA Justice Deputy Minister submitted to the young parliamentarians the principles of lobbyist activity, the lobbyist’s obligations and accrediting problems. Mr. Abovyan noted that in RA Justice Ministry a working group developing the draft law was set up, where representatives from RA Trade and Economic Development Ministry, RA NA factions, parties and NGOs are involved. The RA Justice Deputy Minister informed that the goal of editing the draft law is the reduction of the provisions impeding the activity of the NGOs.
The MP Ararat Malkhasyan was interested in developing the mechanisms of excluding the anti-corruption risks in the drat law. In RA Justice Deputy Minister Ashot Abovyan’s view, the draft law has anti-corruption direction.
The MP Hranush Hakobyan submitted to the parliamentarians the draft law on Making Amendments and Addenda to RA Law on High and Post-Graduate Specialized Education.
Artur Poghosyan, RA Deputy Minister of Culture and Youth Affairs,
Arcvik Minasyan, Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Affairs and Tatul Hakobyan, Deputy Minister of Healthcare answered the questions concerning the young MPs. The questions and proposals related to the youth unemployment, the young families’ housing problems, preserving purity of the literary Armenian, training of doctor-specialists in rural settlements, consequences of tobacco mania, alienation of the Armenian culture and other key problems.
At the end of the session Hakob priest Khachatryan, representative of Ararat diocese explained the mystery of St. Sarkis and Presentation of the Lord to the Temple.
