Proposed Amendments and Addenda to Law on Preschool Education Debated

On March 23, the RA Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Zhanna Andreasyan submitted to parliament for debate in the first reading the draft law on Making Amendment and Addenda to the Law on Preschool Education authored by the Government.

The key rapporteur noted that it was proposed to change the definition of the state educational standard of preschool education, bringing it into line with the logic of the state standard of general education. A number of amendments were made to the authorizing provisions. It is about the trainings of the employees of the preschool educational institution.

The amendments will also define the procedures for selecting training organizations, as well as organizing the education and development of children aged 0-6 years, and providing pedagogical and psychological support services.

The member of the NA Standing Committee on Science, Education, Culture, Diaspora, Youth and Sport Narek Babayan informed that the draft was supplemented by one paragraph at the suggestion of the counterparts of the Government, according to which, the academic year starts on September 1 and ends on August 31.
