The deputies debated the draft law on the Ratification of the European Agreement Concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road presented by The RA Deputy Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Armen Simonyan.
The aim of the Agreement is to increase the level of safety of international carriage of dangerous goods by road - establishing systems for the classification and labeling of dangerous goods, harmonizing the requirements for packaging, labeling and carriage of those goods, preventing harm to human life and health, as well as the environment during the carriage of dangerous goods.
Hovik Aghazaryan informed about the endorsement of the NA Standing Committee on Economic Affairs.
The draft law also presented by Armen Simonyan on Ratifying “Yerevan Bus Program” loan agreement signed on November 24, 2021 between the Republic of Armenia and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) was debated.
Within the framework of the program, the amount of funding is €20 million, and the loan term is 15 years.
It was noted that within the framework of the Sustainable Urban Development Investment Program, a new route network of public transport was developed by the WYG International Limited consulting company and provided to the Yerevan Municipality. According to it, it is necessary to purchase 845 buses of different sizes for the service of the route network. The issue of the financial support for the introduction of the rolling stock of the new transport network was discussed by the Yerevan Municipality in the spring of 2019 with the EBRD, which expressed its readiness to support the acquisition of buses. According to the preliminary estimate, €120-150 million will be needed to purchase the total number of buses.
The deadline for submission of bids was March 31, 2021.

The issues related to the ratification of the above-mentioned two agreements were debated in the NA Standing Committee on Financial-Credit and Budgetary Affairs and were endorsed. The member of the Committee Mikayel Tumasyan voiced about it.
