“The Law on Targeted Use of Environmental Tax Paid by Companies was adopted in 2001, and due to dictates of time, it was necessary to rewrite it, harmonizing with the requirements of the Law on Normative Legal Acts,” the RA Minister of Environment said at the NA sitting held on May 3, presenting the proposed amendments.
In particular, the current law regulates the legal relations related to contributions provided to the affected communities from an environmental tax paid by the companies that have more harmful impact on the environment.
There is a need to establish the most accurate possible list of environmental and health measures included in the programs aimed at solving environmental problems and protecting the environment. According to the key rapporteur, it will allow the communities to develop and carry out more targeted programs.
The draft was endorsed in the Head Committee.
