Drafts Debated in Second Reading at Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs

The RA Deputy Head of Police Ara Fidanyan presented the draft law on Amending the Law on Making Amendments and Addenda to the Law on Citizenship of the Republic of Armenia at the sitting of the NA Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs on May 4.

According to him, the purpose of this amendment is to establish authorizing norms, which will authorize the RA Government to define the procedures for acquiring citizenship of the Republic of Armenia, as well as for submitting documents necessary for termination of citizenship and for reviewing applications, to set the list of religious structures, the baptism certificate issued by them is considered a certificate confirming the Armenian origin.

After the first reading of the draft, there were no proposals.

The draft law on Making Amendments and Addendum to the Constitutional Law on Parties was also debated with the enclosed package.

The RA Deputy Minister of Justice Yeranuhi Tumanyants presented the initiative.

The Committee endorsed the debated issues.

The legislative initiatives authored by the Government were also debated in the second reading during the NA regular sittings and were adopted by voting.
