On June 10, the NA Standing Committee on Defense and Security debated in the second reading the legislative package on Making Addendum to the Law on Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic (Psychoactive) Substances and on Making Addenda to the RA Criminal Code.

According to the RA Deputy Head of Police Ara Fidanyan, the proposed addendum will increase the effectiveness of the fight against the illicit trafficking of drugs, psychotropic substances and precursors and strengthen cooperation between the CIS member states in this field.

The Committee gave a positive conclusion on the package. At the suggestion of the Committee, these and other drafts debated today will be included in the agenda of the upcoming regular sittings of the National Assembly.
