The Head of the Friendship Group Armenia-Czech Republic Artur Hovhannisyan and the Deputy Chair of the Standing Committee on European Integration Meri Galstyan met with the First Vice President of the Senate of the Czech Republic Jiří Růžička within the framework of the visit to Prague.
Issues related to the return of prisoners of war, the invasion of the Azerbaijani troops to the sovereign territory of Armenia on May 12 last year and the destruction of historical and cultural monuments in the territories under the Azerbaijani control in Nagorno-Karabakh were discussed.
Jiří Růžička highly appreciated the democratic processes in Armenia and the efforts of the Armenian side aimed at the establishment of peace in the region.
The deputies said that they expect that the friend of Armenia the Czech Republic, assuming the presidency of the EU Council this year, will include the issues raised in the expected agendas. Issues on strengthening cooperation between the RA NA and the Senate of the Czech Republic were also discussed at the meeting.
