“We are doing everything in order to settle the issues through negotiations and move forward with the peace treaty negotiations,” the Secretary of the Civil Contract Faction Artur Hovhannisyan said during the parliamentary briefings on September 16.

The Secretary of the faction added that there is no progress in the negotiations and therefore it is pointless to talk about the situation, which has not yielded results. “When there will be a result, any progress, there will be an approximation between our and Azerbaijan’s approaches, we will announce it,” the deputy noted.

Andranik Kocharyan, the Chair of the Standing Committee on Defense and Security from the Civil Contract Faction, also participated in the parliamentary briefings. According to the latter, we should be vigilant, our Armed Forces have all the opportunities to check the relevant information, if necessary, we should find resources and management measures to prevent such developments.

The journalist was interested in why the official information about the number of casualties, wounded and captives is not published.

The Secretary of the faction Artur Hovhannisyan informed that the final verified data will be published. According to the Chair of the Standing Committee on Defense and Security Andranik Kocharyan, unspecified information can cause more damage to the power structures of the conflicting parties.

In response to the journalist’s question, Artur Hovhannisyan referred to the meeting of the United Nations Security Council.

“The mentioned statements will be the base for our further diplomatic work and increasing the international pressure on Azerbaijan. This is the achievement of the moment. It should be noted that the issue was referred to the United Nations Security Council. Until now, there was no such precedent,” Artur Hovhannisyan noted. He expressed hope that the aggressor will stop his actions under the pressure of the international community.

Andranik Kocharyan added that these reactions on the international platforms are related to the clear defensive actions of our Armed Forces. These days, the deputy emphasized the importance of ensuring the atmosphere of solidarity within the country.
