NA Deputies to Sign Under Text of Oath: Issue Debated in Head Committee
1 / 9

It is proposed to provide for all the deputies to sign under the text of the oath at the sitting of the National Assembly. The program on Making Addendum to the Constitutional Law the Rules of Procedure of the National Assembly authored by the RA NA deputies Alkhas Ghazaryan, Vladimir Vardanyan and Arpine Davoyan is aimed at increasing the awareness of responsibility due to their position among persons by taking a solemn oath in public. The oath given to the public will serve as an important component of conscientious, legal and responsible behavior in the future.

In his co-report, the RA NA deputy Karen Sarukhanyan noted that the draft is aimed at increasing the responsibility assumed by the deputy towards the RA citizen, therefore he urged to vote in favor of the bill.

Presenting the position of the Government, the RA Deputy Minister of Justice Grigor Minasyan informed that the Government has no proposals.

The Committee endorsed the draft law.

The initiative authored by the deputies was debated at the sitting of the RA NA Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs convened on October 18.
