We Hope that the Workshops for NA Employees Will Serve as a Road Map: Seminar-Workshop Within Twinning Project
1 / 9

The main aim of the Project is to support the RA Ministry of Justice on legal approximation of the national legislation in line with the Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement (CEPA). To achieve this goal, we have already undertaken a number of steps, and a number of steps are still ahead: The Key Expert of the Project Amalia Voskanyan noted during the organized workshop on the topic Approximation to EU Law - Theory and Practice on October 19.

It was held for the Staff of the National Assembly, the experts of the committees and the MP assistants within the framework of the Twinning Project “Strengthening the Capacity of the National Assembly of Armenia to Further Support the Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement (CEPA) Oversight and Implementation.”

Amalia Voskanyan underlined that within the framework of the Project they implemented trainings with the state bodies and the NGOs. Guidelines were worked out, which can support the civil society and the civil servants during the legislative approximation.

Anna Khvorostiankina, Coordinator of the Jean Monnet Module “Legal Approximation Laboratory” presented a report on the topic “The Scholarship for Legal Approximation: Building Synergies Between Academia and Law – and Policy Makers.”

According to her, within the Twinning Project today’s workshop is the last one which is of summary character. “During this workshop we have tried to discuss the information given in the previous meetings,” Anna Khvorostiankina noted. She expressed hope that the workshops for the NA employees will serve as a road map in order they understand what steps and guidelines can be used in the issues related to the EU legal approximation.

The experts of the Twinning Project of Greece shared with their experience on the development of the bills and presented the work done.
