Head of Civil Service Bureau of Office of RA Prime Minister: It is not a salary increment, but the increments are reduced

The minimum salary will increase to 75.000 AMD from January 1, 2023. The draft budget also established that the base salary should become 83.200 AMD. during the sitting of the NA Standing Committee on Labor and Social Affairs, t he Head of the Civil Service Bureau of the Office of the RA Prime Minister Vache Kalashyan noted that according to the law on Remuneration of Persons Holding State Positions and State Service Positions, the base salary should be 80%-110% of the minimum monthly nominal salary.

The 80% salary increase set for the President, the Vice President and the judges of the Constitutional Court (CC) will become 70%, in the case of a judge of the Anti-Corruption Committee 70% will become 60%, the salary increases for individual judges examining cases of corruption crimes of the Criminal Court of Appeal and individual judges examining civil cases initiated by the civil procedure of the Civil Court of Appeal with claims for the protection of property and non-property interests of the state and claims for confiscation of property based on the Law on Confiscation of Property of Illegal Origin will become 55% from 60%. The increase in the amount of 100% of persons holding autonomous positions in the Anti-Corruption Committee and the employees of the Committee will become 92%.

The law will enter into force from January 1, 2023.

In response to the question of the Committee Chair Heriknaz Tigranyan, Vache Kalashyan clarified that due to the growth rates of the base and minimum salary, it may be necessary to refer to these issues periodically.

“It is not a salary increment, but the increments are reduced,” t he Head of the Civil Service Bureau of the Office of the RA Prime Minister noted.

The proposed amendments to the Law on Remuneration of Persons Holding State Positions and State Service Positions were debated in the first reading, and the Committee endorsed.
