Issues of Fight Against Genocides Highlighted

On December 14, during the meeting the Deputy Chair of the RA NA Standing Committee on Protection of Human Rights and Public Affairs Rustam Bakoyan and the members of the delegation of the Iraqi Kurdistan Parliament highlighted the further development of bilateral relations. The deputy Knyaz Hasanov also attended the meeting.

The guests took part in the 4th Global Forum Against Crime of Genocide.

The sides touched upon the issues aimed the fight against genocides. Noting that the Kurdistan Parliament recognized the Armenian Genocide, the guests underlined that genocide against the Iraqi Yazidis was also committed. In this context the experience of Armenia was emphasized in terms of the fight against genocides and presenting it on the international platforms.

At the meeting reference was made to the problems of recognition of the diplomas of the higher educational institutions of the Republic of Armenia in Iraq, as well as the issue of the Yazidis being represented with a separate quota in Iraqi Kurdistan Parliament.

The participants attached importance to the further development of bilateral relations and the increase of the volumes of Armenia-Iraq trade turnover.

Rustam Bakoyan presented the situation created as a consequence of blocking the Lachin Corridor by the Azerbaijani side and expected the colleagues’ response in this issue.
