Committee Endorses a Number of Drafts
1 / 2

On January 11, the NA Standing Committee on Economic Affairs debated the legislative package on Making Addendum to the Law on Industrial Policy and on Making Addendum to the Chambers of Commerce and Industry in the first reading. According to the RA Deputy Minister of Economy Armen Arzumanyan, the introduction of the package is due to the need to design an authorizing norm defining the legal basis for adopting the decision No. 185-N of 17 February 2022.

The package was endorsed by the Committee.

The legislative package on Geodesic and Cartographic Activity, on Spatial Data, on Making Addendum and Amendment to the RA Code on Administrative Offenses and on Amending the Law on State Registration of Property Rights was debated in the second reading.

The head of the RA Cadastre Committee Suren Tovmasyan stated that it is proposed to repeal the existing law on Geodesy, Cartography and Spatial Data Infrastructure and adopt new laws named on Geodesic and Cartographic Activity and on Spatial Data instead.

The Law on Geodesic and Cartographic Activity regulates relations regarding the implementation of geodetic and cartographic activity in the Republic of Armenia. The aim of the law is to regulate geodesic and cartographic activities, to define the competencies of state administration, local self-government bodies and other entities in the sphere of geodesy and cartography, the order of international cooperation, as well as dispute resolution and liability for law violations.

The Law on Spatial Data regulates relations regarding the creation, collection, storage, use, provision, dissemination, exchange and management of spatial data in the Republic of Armenia, as well as defines the amounts and privileges of fees charged for providing information of the state spatial data fund and using services related to them.

The objective of the law is to define the powers of the state administration, local self-government bodies and other entities of the Republic of Armenia, the order of international cooperation and dispute resolution in the sphere of spatial data, as well as the liability for violating the law.

The revised package was endorsed by the Committee.
