The Chair of the NA Standing Committee on Defense and Security, the Head of the RA Delegation to NATO PA Andranik Kocharyan, the Committee members and the members of the RA Delegation to NATO PA met with the NATO Secretary General's Special Representative for the Caucasus and Central Asia Javier Colomina.
The Committee Chair Andranik Kocharyan presented to Javier Colomina the regional recent events and the situation created because of them, touched upon the blocking of the Lachin Corridor by Azerbaijan, underlining that Azerbaijan once again turned to the provoking actions.
The Head of the RA Delegation to NATO PA thanked the NATO Secretary General's Special Representative for the Caucasus and Central Asia for reacting to the events of September 2022, highlighting the attention and the targeted response of the international community to what is going on.
Presenting the aim of his visit, the NATO Secretary General's Special Representative noted that he is concerned about the events going on in the region, adding that the NATO is interested in ensuring peace and stability in the region.
During the meeting the sides highly appreciated the activities of the EU Observation Mission completed on December 19. The Armenian side once again reaffirmed the readiness of Armenia to promote the work of the new civil mission.
A number of issues concerning the current status of the Armenia-NATO partnership and the regional security were also discussed, a reference was made to the development of bilateral cooperation and the possibilities of its expansion.
