It is Proposed to Intensify Fight Against Street Trade by legislative Package

It is proposed by the legislative initiative to reserve power to the local self-government bodies to apply administrative penalty not only in the form of fine in not set places and in cases pf carrying out trade by violation of requirements set by legislation or rendering service, but also apply additional administrative penalty on confiscation of items being used during trade and rendering service. The RA Deputy Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Vache Terteryan said about this.

The parliament debated in the first reading draft law on Making Amendments and Addenda to the RA Code on Administrative Offences and the enclosed legislative package.

The Deputy Minister underlined that not only fight against that defective phenomenon not only with fines and penalties had not been very effective. He clarified that the amounts of fines are not changed, they will remain the same.

“What conditions are created for carrying out trade?” the deputy Garnik Danielyan was interested.

Vache Terteryan informed that sale markets for seasonal goods function in Yerevan for carrying out trade, and some of them reguclarly work. There are also permanent markets, where one can always sell agricultural products.

“They are sufficient or not, that is another matter,” Vache Terteryan said and underlined that that kind of activity should be limited and moved to legal described field of activity.

The Chair of the NA Standing Committee on Territorial Administration, Local Self-Government, Agriculture and Environment Vahe Ghalumyan presented the endorsement of the Committee.

The package was debated at the NA sitting on February 9.
