The executive body proposes with the legislative initiative to give opportunity to pass attestation for receiving surcharge the teachers in the sphere of extracurricular education.

On February 9, at the extraordinary sitting of the NA Standing Committee on Science, Education, Culture, Diaspora, Youth and Sport the amendments and addenda being proposed to the law on Education in the second reading was debated.

The RA Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport Zhanna Andreasyan informed that during the period from the first to the second reading a number of proposals were received by the deputies, the bill was revised before the second reading, adjustments were made.

In particular, the proposal by the deputies was received, by which the extracurricular education system is guaranteed. The directions, structures of the extracurricular programmes, which can carry out the order of those programmes and financing, were also set.

A number of proposals presented by the deputy of the RA NA Armenia Faction Lilit Galstyan were not accepted: the Minister clarified that there is need for holding debates and doing work in those directions.

The Committee endorsed the draft law.
