On February 23, the Chair of the Standing Committee on European Integration of the National Assembly Arman Yeghoyan and the MP Arsen Torosyan met with the Member of the European Parliament François Alfonsi.
During the meeting the interlocutors thoroughly discussed issues related to the geopolitical challenges and security problems threatening Armenia. The Armenian MPs presented the demand of applying temporary means on unblocking of Lachin Corridor of the UN Justice International Court of February 22 decision, according to which, the Court obligated Azerbaijan to ensure an uninterrupted move of transport and people with assumed obligations through Lachin Corridor.
François Alfonsi presented details on meetings in Armenia, touched upon the visit paid to Syunik Region on the previous day.
The Member of the European Parliament was interested in the activities of the Standing Committee on European Integration, at the same time highlighting the latter’s work done with the bodies of the European Union. The opportunity of the joint programmes in different formats was discussed. It was underlined that the role of the Standing Committee on European Integration increases day by day.
Other issues of bilateral interest were also discussed.
