Alarm: Why The Hague Court Decision is Not Implemented?
1 / 1

The Chair of the RA NA Standing Committee on Protection of Human Rights Taguhi Tovmasyan alarmed the international community on the problem of not implementing the requirement of the International Court of Justice by Azerbaijan.

Presenting the decision of the Court, the MP made a reference to Article 59 of the Statute of the International Court of Justice (ICJ), according to which, the Court has binding force for the parties and in respect of that particular case, as well as Article 60 envisages that the judgment is final and without appeal.

Taguhi Tovmasyan recorded that Azerbaijan blatantly violates even the key provisions of the Charter of the principal judicial organ of the United Nations. Already almost 2 days have passed since mentioned Decision of the International Court of Justice but Azerbaijan commits another crime continuing blocking the unimpeded movement of persons, vehicles and cargo along the Lachin Corridor in both directions.

The Chair of the RA NA Standing Committee on Protection of Human Rights urgently addressed all of her international colleagues alarming on the current situation and requesting in the framework of their mandate contribute to the implementation of the UN ICJ’s Decision on indicating provisional measures, as well as present the implemented or future steps on the mentioned matter.
