It is proposed to make amendments and addenda to the law on the remuneration of persons holding public positions and public service positions, as a result of its adoption it is planned to pay prosecutors a monthly surcharge in the amount of ninety-two percent of the official rate. The RA Deputy Minister of Justice Levon Balyan stated about this introducing the Government's draft law on Addenda and Amendments to the Law on Remuneration of Persons Holding State Positions and State Service Positions for debate in the NA Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs in the first reading.

The Deputy Minister mentioned that the basis of the proposal is the riskiness of prosecutors’ work, as well as the goal of making that work more attractive. It was noted that prosecutors will receive the surcharge in an unequal amount, each prosecutor will receive a surcharge according to his rate.

The issue was debated at the Committee’s sitting on February 27 and was endorsed.
