Parliamentary Delegation of Grand Duchy of Luxembourg Visits Tsitsernakaberd Memorial Complex
1 / 5

In 2015, the Chamber of Deputies of Grand Duchy of Luxembourg adopted a Resolution recognizing the Armenian Genocide.

During these days, the Member of the Bureau of the Chamber of Deputies Claude Wiseler also visited our country for the first time, and the party led by him is an author of pro-Armenian resolutions on recognition of the Genocide, as well as during the 44-day war and after that adopted by Parliament of Luxembourg.

“It’s a pity what’s happening here at this moment in this region. I am a member of the opposition, it’s not just majority, it’s a whole parliament that says on which side we are. We are supporting and we will support Armenia, until we reach its goal,” Claude Wiseler said. The Chairman of the Committee on Foreign and European Affairs of the Chamber of Deputies Luxembourg Yves Cruchten is the second time in Armenia, but his impressions are again full. “My soul is with people who lost their lives with no reason. And those who come to this memorial is not only to remember, but it also should make people think how to live together as humans and all this should never happen again,” the guest underlined.

On February 28, the delegation led by the Deputy Speaker of Parliament, the Deputy Chair of the Bureau of the Chamber of Deputies of Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, Djuna Bernard accompanied by the Head of Armenia-Luxembourg Friendship Group Sona Ghazaryan visited Tsitsernakaberd.

The members of the delegation laid a wreath and put flowers at Eternal Fire perpetuating the memory of the Armenian Genocide victims, in silence and bowing honoured the memory of Holy Martyrs. In the Armenian Genocide Museum-Institute they got acquainted with the documents proving the massacres. Djuna Bernard left a note in the Memory Book of Honourable Guests.
