We highly appreciate the Armenian-Mexican relations. We are friendly people, and Armenia is concerned about deepening the cooperation with Mexico. The Head of Armenia-Mexico Friendship Group Gurgen Arsenyan said this during the meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Mexico to Armenia Eduardo Villegas Megías.

The meeting was held on March 1, where the deputies of the RA NA Civil Contract Faction Alkhas Ghazaryan, Tatevik Gasparyan, Taguhi Ghazaryan and the deputy of the RA NA Armenia Faction Artur Khachatryan also took part there.

Welcoming the Ambassador in parliament, the Head of the Friendship Group Congratulated him on assuming the responsible office of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Mexico to Armenia. He expressed conviction that as a result of joint work, effective cooperation will be recorded.

Thanking for warm reception, the Ambassador noted that it was a great honor for him to represent Mexico in Armenia. He noted that he sees the Armenian-Mexican relations having great potential for development.

The members of the Friendship Group highlighted the inter-parliamentary cooperation, noting that the activities of the Parliamentary Friendship Group will give new nuances to Armenian-Mexican relations.

Gurgen Arsenyan documented that in January 2023, when the delegation of the Friendship Group pf Mexico arrived in Armenia, a number of meetings took place, some agreements were reached. He expressed hope that the cooperation in this format will be continuous.

Artur Khachatryan thanked the parliament of Mexico for recognizing and condemning the Armenian Genocide, noting that the recognition and condemnation of such crimes is important for their further prevention. Presenting the situation in Armenia and in Artsakh, the MP noted that he also expects the support of Mexico in the process of the settlement of Nagorno Karabakh issue: that is to return to the substantive negotiations of the legal status decision of Nagorno Karabakh.

Taguhi Ghazaryan noted that in the sphere of science, education and culture there are several agendas of cooperation, which were discussed and adjusted during the visit of the delegation of the Friendship Group of Mexico to Armenia. She expressed hope that the discussed programs will be brought to life also with the Ambassador’s support and participation.

The Ambassador expressed readiness to jointly work in developing the Armenian-Mexican relations.
