Issue Debated in NA Standing Committee on Economic Affairs: Executive Body Proposes to Exempt a Number of Activities from Notification Requirement
1 / 5

At the sitting of the NA Standing Committee on Economic Affairs, the proposed amendments and addenda to the Laws on Notification of Activity Implementation and on State Tax were debated in the first reading.

The RA Minister of Economy Vahan Kerobyan informed that currently there are 19 types of activities subject to notification accounted by the Ministry of Economy. The drafts propose to cease the notification requirement in 6 cases, keep it in 5 cases, and add one more. According to him, in order to separate and clarify the types of production activity of distilled alcoholic beverages subject to notification and to acquire the right to engage in their production activity in order to promote the production of certain types of alcoholic beverages, the most affordable rates of annual state taxes have been defined.

According to the RA Minister of Economy Vahan Kerobyan, the adoption of new regulations is due to the fact of reducing the administration, supporting businessmen, making the given sectors more attractive from the viewpoint of the business and investment environment.

The Deputy Chair of the Committee Babken Tunyan inquired about the fulfillment of control and quality requirements in those spheres. “We exempt the companies from the notification requirement, but at the same time, the other sanitary-hygienic and food safety requirements for their type of activity remain the same,” the Minister clarified.

The Committee endorsed the issue.
