Rustam Bakoyan meets with representatives of Hanover Yazidi Academy
1 / 6

Hanover Yazidi Academy is a structure with a big mission, and the aim is to preserve the identity of the Yazidi people: historical necessity and imperative of time. The RA NA deputy of the Civil Contract Faction Rustam Bakoyan said this during the meeting with the representatives of Hanover Yazidi Academy of the Federal Republic of Germany (FRG) On March 30.

Getting acquainted with the activity of the Yazidi Academy, the various programmes and initiatives implemented, Rustam Bakoyan expressed conviction that the structure will make a great contribution to the realization of the nationwide goals and dreams of the Yazidi people with its activity.

Expressing gratitude to Rustam Bakoyan for his warm welcome and words, the representatives of Hanover Yazidi Academy highlighted the importance of cooperation with the Yazidi community of Armenia. They expressed conviction that cooperation will expand the scope of implementation of programmes.

Touching upon the genocide committed against the Yazidis of Sinjar in 2014, the deputy noted that it had a weighty impact and still has today on the Yazidi people’s not only physical, but also psychological, educational and cultural life. “Even today, extreme international crimes are being committed against the Yazidi people, preventing them from realizing their natural and inalienable rights, from the natural right to life to the inalienable right to education. Even these days, many Yazidis survive in camps, in inhumane conditions, struggling for their physical existence and future,” Rustam Bakoyan said, underscoring the role of science and education as national guards.
