On April 4, the NA Chair of the Standing Committee on European Integration Arman Yeghoyan received the Head of Croatia-Armenia Friendship Group Davor Ivo Stier and the member of the group, the Chairperson of the European Affairs Committee Domagoj Hajduković.
Arman Yeghoyan presented details regarding the occupation of the sovereign territories of Armenia by Azerbaijan, the continuous bellicose rhetoric of the top leadership of that country, the illegal blockade of the Lachin Corridor and the resulting humanitarian crisis to the Croatian parliamentarians. The Committee Chair highlighted the support of the European countries to restrain the illegal ambitions of the authoritarian country.
Issues regarding the negotiations of the Armenia-Azerbaijan peace treaty were discussed. Existing processes have become the subject of discussion in the context of developments taking place in the large region.
The MPs also spoke about Armenia-European Union relations, emphasized the latter’s support to democratic Armenia for the establishment of institutions and the deepening of integration processes. The development of relations between the Committees responsible for European relations at both bilateral and multilateral levels has been in the spotlight.
