In case of implementing the amendments, we will have an opportunity to establish the types of scientific, state organizations, the requirements for their structures and the classification criteria, including the indicators of the expected end result in relation to the activity, which will allow us to regulate the disparities of the existing scientific research organizations and the subdivisions in them, and we will be able to have unified performance indicators. We will get the most important opportunity to approve the five-year strategic plan for the development of the science sector, and the schedule of measures for its implementation. The RA Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Zhanna Andreasyan said about this.
At April 25 sitting of the Standing Committee on Science, Education, Culture, Diaspora, and Sport, the draft law on Making Addenda and Amendments to the Law on Scientific and Scientific-Technical Activity and the package of related draft laws was debated in the first reading.
In particular, it was proposed to reserve powers for approving programmes aimed at the development of Armenian studies and other fields of science. Touching upon the structural amendments, the key rapporteur highlighted the opportunity of forming the higher education and the Science Committee.
