Today, Parliament is the number one authority body in Armenia, which forms the executive power and has a great influence on the formation of the judicial power: the NA deputy of Armenia Faction Andranik Tevanyan said during the meeting with the students of Yerevan State University who visited the National Assembly on May 5 within the framework of a cognitive visit.

The deputy noted that the priority of the legislative body today is to ensure the security of our country through parliamentary diplomacy. He highlighted the capability of the initiator in the negotiation process to protect his own positions.

The deputy also touched upon the trilateral negotiations held in Washington recently.

Andranik Tevanyan spoke about the statements and political positions initiated by Armenia Faction, in particular, the NA statements regarding the illegal closing of the Lachin Corridor by Azerbaijan and the condemnation of Shushi declaration, which were not accepted by the political majority. According to him, the public should unite around the logic that Artsakh cannot be part of Azerbaijan.

The students inquired about the issues regarding the current state of Armenian-Russian relations, as well as the development of diplomatic relations with Iran and Georgia.

In this context, Andranik Tevanyan mentioned that the borders of the Republic of Armenia should be protected, and it is necessary to develop strategic relations with Russia and Iran.

The NA deputy of Armenia Faction Anna Grigoryan also referred to the aspirations of Azerbaijan regarding the territorial integrity of Armenia. She stated that she is a member of the NA delegation in a number of international parliamentary structures, and the main task of parliamentary delegations in these structures is to oppose the theses of Azerbaijan and advance Armenia’s agenda.
