Issues regarding regional security, Armenian-Georgian multi-sectoral cooperation discussed

On May 18, the Chairman of the Parliament of Georgia Shalva Papuashvili received the delegation led by the Chair of the RA NA Standing Committee on Foreign Relations Sargis Khandanyan. The deputies Hripsime Grigoryan, Eduard Aghajanyan, as well as the RA Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Georgia Ashot Smbatyan took part in the meeting. From the Georgian side, the First Deputy Chairperson of the Parliament of Georgia, the Chair of the Friendship Group with the Parliament of the Republic of Armenia George Volski, and the Chairperson of the Foreign Relations Committee of the Parliament of Georgia Nikoloz Samkharadze also attended the meeting.

Warmly welcoming the guests, Shalva Papuashvili expressed his satisfaction with the cooperation formed between the two committees, the joint meeting and expressed hope that it will be continuous. He also highlighted the cooperation between the friendship groups.

Sargis Khandanyan, thanking for the warm reception, conveyed the warm greetings of the RA NA President to Shalva Papuashvili, presented details on the issues discussed during the joint meeting held on May 17. At the request of the Chairperson of the Parliament of Georgia, details of the Washington and Brussels meetings held in May were introduced.

During the meeting, issues regarding regional security, as well as other agenda items of Armenian-Georgian multi-sectoral cooperation - political, economic, cultural, etc. were discussed.
