On May 24, the National Assembly continued the work of the regular sittings.

The draft law on Making Addendum to the law on Licensing authored by the Government was debated in the second reading. It is expected by the adoption of the draft to permanently keep under control the licensed persons, taking into consideration the importance of the health sphere and the risks connected with the people’s life and health. After the proposing amendment by the draft the employees’ relevant documents will be presented again with licensing. According to the key rapporteur, the RA Minister of Health Anahit Avanesyan, the licenses given in the sphere of health since 2002 will be reviewed, the technical, itinerary equipment and human resources will meet the current requirements, which will promote the improvement of the medical aid and service quality in the Republic of Armenia.

The parliament by voting passed the bills debated on the previous day, except the packages of draft laws on Making Addenda to the Code on RA Lithosphere, on Making Addendum to the Code on Administrative Offences and on Making Amendments and Addenda to the law on Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances and on Making Amendment to the Code on Administrative Offences.

The key rapporteurs, the RA Deputy Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Hovhannes Harutyunyan and the RA First Deputy Minister of Health Lena Nanushyan proposed to return the debate of the package of drafts to a phase of presenting the proposals in written form on the drafts: the proposals were adopted by voting.
