The draft law on Making Amendment and Addenda to the law on Ensuring Road Safety was debated in the first reading at May 30 sitting of the NA Standing Committee on Defense and Security. According to the key rapporteur, the RA Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Davit Hambaryan, it is proposed to envisage new kind of number plates of special demand.

3 kinds of registration number plates, next, desirable and of great demand, are designed with functioning legal regulations.

It was noted that by adopting the draft law it is expected to design legal possibility for setting number plates of special demand and alienating them in auction order.

The co-rapporteur, the Deputy Chair of the Committee Armen Khachatryan presented statistics on unrealized number plates. He indicated a number of provisions, which need to be rectified.

Different opinions sounded on the draft.

The Chair of the NA Standing Committee on Defense and Security Andranik Kocharyan proposed to postpone the voting of the issue up to two months. During that period the problematic issues will be debated and solved. The key rapporteur accepted the proposal.
