Deputy Emma Palyan inquires about the change of disability category of the servicemen
1 / 2

During the NA-Government Q&A session, the deputy of the Civil Contract Faction Emma Palyan inquired from the RA Minister of Labor and Social Affairs about the reason of the created situation that in the recent period they call from the medical-social examination service to the servicemen who don’t have limbs during 44-day war and inform that their disability category has been changed. For example, the servicemen moved from the first to the third category.

The Minister Narek Mkrtchyan clarified that the change of the disability category is conditioned by the fact that before passing the prosthetics process those servicemen had problem of mobility, therefore at that time, for example, they received first category. Most of them waited for months or even one year for reaching the phase of prosthetics. The Minister noted that after passing the prosthetics re-examination is held, as a result of which a decision is made. For example, if the mobility has been restored, change takes place in the disability category.

Responding to the Minister, Emma Palyan noted that, according to the alarmed servicemen, if there is prosthetics, it cannot replace the natural limbs.
