At present, in the higher educational institution the children left without parental care or persons belonging to their number in the higher educational institutions can study free of charge until the age of 23. However, taking into consideration, the fact of continuing the study again after being drafted into the army the persons and returning, sometimes it turns out that the age limit (23) is already exceeded unintentionally and the citizen is deprived of social guarantees. The Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Tatevik Stepanyan said about this during the debate of the draft law on Making Amendments and Addenda to the Law on Social Protection of Children Left Without Parental Care at the extraordinary session of the Standing Committee on Labor and Social Affairs on June 26.
As the Deputy Minister informed, the issue was voiced by the citizens and as a problem subject to solution, was presented to the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs and the National Assembly. It was also debated with the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport.
βIt is also proposed to include in this regulation the students who are on maternity leave, as well as the students who have children under 3 years of age without parental care. The exercise of the right to receive free education of the children left without parental care will be provided also in the preliminary professional educational institutions,β the Deputy Minister noted and added that besides the abovementioned some technical rectifications will also be implemented in the draft.
The deputy of the Civil Contract Faction Stepanyan welcomed the draft and said that an opportunity is given to improve the life of the children left without parental care and get out of poverty.
The Chair of the Standing Committee on Financial-Credit and Budgetary Affairs Gevorg Papoyan informed that the digital economic growth in our country continues. βA few minutes ago, the Statistics Committee published the statistical data of May and January-May months, according to which, during May our country has 13.7 percent economic activeness growth: in the financial year, the inflation fell to 1.3%, which is equal to the economic activeness growth of the previous whole year,β Gevorg Papoyan noted.
The parliament passed the legislative initiative of the Government in the first reading.
