Number plates with new standards are of great interest. They will differ from the highly demanded number plates by their value, combinations of letters and numbers: the RA Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs David Hambaryan mentioned, presenting the draft law on Making Amendment and Addenda to the law on Ensuring Road Traffic Safety. It was debated at the extraordinary NA session convened on June 26.

According to David Hambaryan, it is proposed to provide the state registration number plates of the new group by auction.

He informed that in the Standing Committee on Defense and Security it was proposed to carry out the sale of number plates exclusively through an electronic auction. The Government adopted the proposal: a relevant platform will be created.

The deputy of the NA Civil Contract Faction Sisak Gabrielyan inquired what the starting price of the auction will be, in response to which the rapporteur stated that the starting prices, auction order and standards will be set by the relevant decision of the RA Government.

The Deputy Chair of the NA Standing Committee on Defense and Security Armen Khachatryan touched upon the issue of about 1.5 million unsold number plates. According to him, it is predicted to review the initial prices of expensive number plates, lower them and give citizens the opportunity to purchase those number plates through auction sales.
