Ambassador of India in Parliament

On June 16 Tigran Torosyan, RA NA President received Rina Pandey, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of India to Armenia.

During the meeting issues of deepening interparliamentary ties were discussed. Ms. Pandey, noting that the availability of political and economic practical ties between India and Armenia, invited the NA President to India with an official visit to get closely familairized with the legislative experience, parliamentary activity and strengthening the inter-state relations. She also highlighted the cooperation of the Armenian and Indian parliamentarians in the international sphere.

Expressing gratitude for the invitation, RA NA President Tigran Torosyan, informed the Ambassador about the wide-scale legislative activities, which after the constitutional referendum, the Parliament launched, having the task to reach the public-political reforms to a level of economic successes, which also recorded the international experts. It was noted that in spring of 2007 a re-election period for the parliament would begin.

During the meeting the sides touched upon the incident connected with the Indian students studying at Yerevan State Medical University and press publications. Both sides noted that the incident has been smoothed out, and can’t have an impact on the Armenian-Indian friendship.
