The RA NA President Alen Simonyan met with the participants of the NA Summer School programme on August 25.
During the meeting, he spoke about the responsibility of politicians, the obstacles encountered on the way to becoming a politician and the lessons that should be learned while following that difficult path.
“In order to have achievements, be purposeful, arm yourself with knowledge, don’t be broken by failures and master the art of speech,” the RA NA President underscored.
Answering the questions of the young people, the RA NA President touched upon the types of speeches and the necessary school knowledge base, which if further developed, a politician can become a good orator and give influential speeches. Alen Simonyan advised the students to leave the main point at the end when writing a speech, because people are more impressed when they hear the important thought at the end. He suggested staying away from quotes and have their own approach to each issue. The Head of Parliament added that the most important thing in the way of conveying what has to be said is to look into people’s eyes in order to understand whether what was said was fully understood or not.
The students asked many questions about community problems, legislative initiatives and the powers of the NA President. Questions were also raised regarding the fate of the 120,000 Armenians of Nagorno-Karabakh who are being held hostage, and what to expect from the peace treaty in case of signing. Reference was made to ways of strengthening the position of our country in the region, prospective steps implemented in the economic bloc.
