Legislative initiative aimed at effective implementation of enforcement service functions
1 / 3

At present, a number of legislative and application problems are relevant in the enforcement process, which hinder the normal and efficient organization of the service work, filling vacant positions, hiring knowledgeable personnel, and improving the social status and knowledge of the employees. The Deputy Minister of Justice Levon Balyan said this at the RA NA regular sitting on September 12, presenting the package of draft laws on Making Addenda and Amendments to the Law on Enforcement Service and on Making Amendments to the Law on Public Service for debate to the Parliament.

In particular, it was proposed to establish certain mandatory courses for enforcement officers. “If the draft is adopted, it is planned to provide by-laws regulating relations concerning the training of enforcement officers that the enforcement officer is released from the obligation to undergo mandatory training, if he has already received training based on the results of the performance assessment in the last one year,” Levon Balyan explained.

The draft also proposes that in case of transfer to another subdivision in 2024, without consent conditioned by the service, the enforcement officer, as well as other civil servants with special features, will be provided with compensation for renting an apartment set by the Government.

The member of the Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs Arpine Davoyan presented the endorsement of the Head Committee.
