Armenia and the Czech Republic have always been good friends, they have best traditions and values of cooperation. I highly appreciate the level of friendly relations between the National Assembly of Armenia and the Czech Parliament: The member of the RA NA Armenia-Czech Republic Friendship Group, the member of the NA Standing Committee on Territorial Administration, Local Self-Government, Agriculture and Environment Protection Lilit Kirakosyan said during the meeting with the Chairperson of the Committee on Environment of the Chamber of Deputies of the Czech Parliament Yana Krutáková on September 19.
According to Lilit Kirakosyan, there a political dialogue of high level between the two countries, in recent decade the cooperation between the parliaments of the two countries has been rather active. She documented that the Friendship Group is ready to closely cooperate with the Czech side.
The NA deputy touched upon the regional problems, highlighting the signing of the Peace Treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan. The MP documented that after November 9, 2020 Trilateral Statement the Azerbaijani side does not preserve the reached agreements, which is a great danger in terms of the establishment of peace in the region. Lilit Kirakosyan reminded that Azerbaijan put the 120.000 population of Nagorno Karabakh before the humanitarian crisis.
The Czech side inquired about the fate of Armenian prisoners of war being held in Azerbaijan. In response it was noted that Armenia does its best that Armenian prisoners of war will return to their homeland as soon as possible.
Yana Krutáková informed that in autumn of the previous year at the meeting with the Armenian delegation in the Czech Republic numerous issues on agriculture and environment were discussed. As she assured, the Czech side has laws, which can be acceptable for Armenia. The Czech colleague touched upon two legislative initiatives, which at this moment are under elaboration by the Czech specialists: The first is the issue of water resources, and the second - the preservation of the soil quality. It was mentioned that on the previous day, at the meeting with the representatives of the charity foundations a number of problems on the two spheres were discussed.
In the context of cooperation in this sphere, Lilit Kirakosyan evaluated the study of the Czech legislation and the localization of the succeeded experience.
The sides expressed readiness for more deeply discussing the raised issues in the near future.
