Armenian and Italian parliamentarians discuss current security situation in region

On September 27, the online joint meeting of the RA NA Standing Committee on Foreign Relations and the on Foreign Affairs and Defence Committee of Senate of Italy took place.

Welcoming their Italian colleagues, the Armenian parliamentarians presented the humanitarian situation in Nagorno Karabakh and the security situation of the region.

The Chair of the NA Standing Committee on Foreign Relations Sargis Khandanyan voiced for the realities happened in Nagorno Karabakh during recent ten years after closing the Lachin corridor, spoke about the situation created because of another large-scale military offensive unleashed against the Nagrono Karabakh people by Azerbaijan.

The members of the NA Standing Committee Eduard Aghajanyan and Maria Karapetyan referred to the current difficulties in the regulation process of the relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan and the ongoing negotiation process.

The Italian parliamentarians expressed readiness for supporting their Armenian colleagues and promised to do their best for keeping at the centre of attention of the Government of Italy the difficult situation and increasing pressure on Azerbaijan.
