Amendments and addenda to law on Anti-Corruption Committee
1 / 4

During the activity of the Anti-Corruption Committee, a number of problems emerged, which need legal regulation, The RA Deputy Minister of Justice Ara Mkrtchyan said, presenting the amendments and addenda being proposed to the law on Anti-Corruption Committee.

The issue was debated in the first reading at the sitting of the Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs on September 28.

According to Ara Mkrtchyan, the modern scientific-technical progress and the amendments corresponding to it resulted in the change of the requirements being presented to different professions, as a result of which, the working methods and means had also been changed. To his assessment, the proposing regulations will promote the recruiting of the skillful and knowledgeable employees in the operative sub-division of the Committee. In particular, it was proposed to create legal basis for applying the regulations stipulated by law on appointing the coded employees in the position.

To make the process of recruiting the vacancies more flexible, implementing effective management of forces and means, necessity of changing the current regulations emerged.

As Ara Mkrtchyan said, the competition of the vacancy is appointed by the law in force after the post remaining vacant, during one month, which creates numerous obstacles. The competition will be announced by the proposing amendment after the post of the civil service remaining vacant – during three months.

The provisions on applying special means by the employees of the Committee were specified.

The-co-rapporteur Lilit Minasyan mentioned that the proposing amendments will help to improve the situation in the Committee, to involve required specialists for disclosing the crimes. The Committee voted for the draft law.
