On December 15, the RA NA President Alen Simonyan visited the School of Lanjik Community of Shirak Marz and Gyumri Basic School No 19. The Chair of the Standing Committee on Science, Education, Culture, Diaspora, Youth and Sport Sisak Gabrielyan, the Regional Governor of Shirak Mushegh Muradyan, the representatives of the Regional Administration accompanied the Head of the Parliament.

A few months ago, at the meeting with the pupils of the abovementioned schools of Shirak Marz within the framework of the Open Lesson programme of the National Assembly the Head of the Parliament promised them certainly to be hosted in their schools.

At Lanjik Community the NA President laid flowers in memory of the Armenian-school graduate sons, who sacrificed their lives for the homeland. Alen Simonyan took a tour in school accompanied by the director and teachers, got acquainted with building conditions. The achievements and problems of the educational institutions were presented to the RA NA President, after which Alen Simonyan took part in the event organized by the schoolchildren.

Afterwards, the NA President went to Gyumri Basic School No 19, laid flowers at Vazgen Sargsyan monument, then – in memory of the graduate martyred for the defense of the homeland. The Head of the parliament took a tour in school, was also in pre-school. Alen Simonyan warmly talked with the teachers and pupils, who emphasized the visit of the Head of the legislative body of Armenia, noted that it is also an evidence of that the problems of the educational system are always under state care.

Alen Simonyan donated about 70 fiction books and necessary modern technique to two schools. The pedagogues expressed conviction that the replenishment of the library fund is very important for the effective organization of the schoolchildren’ educational process.
