The initiative is aimed at providing better services for our citizens: The RA Deputy Minister of Justice Armenuhi Harutyunyan said, presenting the proposed addenda and amendments to the RA Civil Procedure Code for debate in the first reading.
According to the rapporteur, new regulations are designed, according to which the persons participating in the case will more fully exercise their procedural rights.
According to Armenuhi Harutyunyan, it is also planned to carry out notifications by telephone or Internet connection, for example by sending a message. The latter will be possible if the party provides the court with their phone number or e-mail address.
In order to unload the Court of Appeal from small cases, the draft proposes some restrictions on the right of appeal.
According to the Deputy Minister, proposals were made in the Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs, which the Ministry will have the opportunity to study once again before the second reading.
In the related report, the endorsement of the Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs was presented by the Deputy Chair of the Committee Arusyak Julhakyan. According to her, the initiative is aimed at improving such structures in the Code that will increase the efficiency of civil proceedings, executing the right to examine the case within a reasonable time, expanding the use of electronic toolkits. The deputy noted that the NA Expertise and Analytical Department submitted proposals regarding the draft, some of which were accepted. According to Arusyak Julhakyan, an agreement was reached at the Committee sitting to hold a work debate before the second reading.
The initiative was debated at the NA extraordinary session convened on December 22.
