The adoption of the draft law on Making Addenda and Amendment to the Law on Tax Service and the package of the attached drafts is conditioned by the necessity to regulate the legal relations arising during the holding of temporarily vacant positions of the tax and customs services. This was stated by the First Deputy Chairman of the RA State Revenue Committee (SRC) Artyom Smbatyan, presenting the legislative package for debate in the first reading at the January 10 sitting of the NA Standing Committee on Economic Affairs. According to his information, the proposed amendments are completely derived from the reform of the SRC staffing approved and launched in 2022.
Artyom Smbatyan presented the existing regulations and the proposed amendments, as a result of which the tax and customs service employees holding vacant and temporarily vacant positions will be considered as customs or tax officials.
The Committee endorsed the package of drafts.
