It is proposed to replace the requirement of at least three years of professional work experience in the last five years with the requirement of at least two years of professional work experience established for the person included in the list of prosecutors’ nominations to be exempted from taking study courses and exams at the Academy of Justice. According to the author of the draft law օ n Amending the Law on Prosecution Arpine Davoyan, the mentioned period is sufficient for the formation of necessary practical professional skills and personal qualities.
The issue was debated in the first reading at the sitting of the NA Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs on January 11. The author informed that the amendment will make it possible to increase the number of prosecutors, who are lacking in the RA Prosecutor’s Office. It was noted that a two-year professional work experience is also required in the RA Investigative Committee and the RA Anti-Corruption Committee.
