Everyone should do the maximum to develop and to improve the community: The Deputy Chair of the NA Standing Committee on Protection of Human Rights and Public Affairs Rustam Bakoyan said at the meeting held with the students Yazidi by their nationality on January 16.

During the meeting issues regarding the problems of the Yazidi community were discussed. Rustam Bakoyan touched upon the legislative initiatives authored by him, presented the works aimed at solving the problems of the Yazidi community.

The deputy informed that he will make a legislative initiative on increasing the marriage age limit in the near future. There will be debates on the issue, parliamentary hearings also will be organized.

Rustam Bakoyan proposed the students to take part in the debates to submit proposals. The MP highlighted the necessity of getting education. He noted that the 40.000 Yazidi community has about 100 students. According to him, especially the young people are bearers and keepers of the Yazidi community culture and identity, hence there is need to boost the issue of getting higher education.

The participants of the meeting expressed hope that similar meetings will be continuous.
