Committee debates draft laws in second reading
1 / 3

It is proposed to introduce the medical professionals’ individual licensing in the Republic of Armenia, which will promote the rise of the medical aid quality in Armenia, and the regulations will be consonant with the regulations in force in the developed countries.

The draft law on Making Amendments and Addenda to the law on Medical Aid and Service of the Population and the enclosed presented package of draft laws authored by the Government were debated in the second reading at January 31 sitting of the Standing Committee on Health Care.

Touching upon the proposing amendments and addenda, the RA Minister of Health Anahit Avanesyan answered the MPs’ questions, presenting the medical professional working in the military unit without individual license, the statuses of the military doctors who received individual license on the bases established by law for suspending or stopping the action of the individual license.

As the Chair of the Standing Committee on Health Care Narek Zeynalyan observed, distinct regulations are necessary on the cases of two individual license. The Committee postponed the voting of the legislative package up to two months for making some other technical editions.

“This law will comprehensively regulate the public health care sector and we’ll have a framework of notions, the regulation regimes and certain new functions,” the RA Minister of Health Anahit Avanesyan said, presenting in the second reading the draft law envisaging Addenda and Amendment to the law on Public Health and the legislative package to the enclosed laws.

The proposal was accepted. The Committee endorsed the legislative package.
