“I am sure that the knowledge and experience that you have obtained during these months in the National Assembly, are considered to be only the beginning of new achievements and successes,” the President of the National Assembly Alen Simonyan noted, congratulating the graduates of the Parliamentary Internship and Fellowship Program 2023 of the National Democratic Institute.
The Speaker of Parliament highly appreciated the involvement of the Program participants in the work of the National Assembly and thanked the National Democratic Institute and the US Agency for International Development (USAID) for implementing the Program for the fifth time and giving opportunity to the Armenian young people to take part in the works of the legislative body.
The Mission Director at USAID/Armenia Mission John Allelo, t he Armenia Resident Director of the National Democracy Institute Coen Pustjens , the Senior Head of the Parliamentary Programs of Armenia Office of the National Democratic Institute Hovhannes Harutyunyan also congratulated the Program graduates.
About ten months within the framework of the Program the young professionals had an opportunity to pass internship in parliament, taking part in the work of the legislative body.
The interns supported the Committees, the deputies and the NA Staff, making analyses, researches, press monitoring, press releases, helping to manage the social platforms, as well as taking part in the sittings of the Committees and in the NA plenary sittings. They also took part in the organizational works of the meetings.
As a result of the Program the young professionals improved their knowledge and skills, most of the graduates went to work in the state government bodies.
The program is financed by the US Agency for International Development (USAID) and is implemented as a result of cooperation of the National Democracy Institute (NDI) and the National Assembly.
