It has been three years since the Memory Train cultural-educational project has been implemented at the initiative of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation and the National Assembly of Belarus, in which Armenia is also participating for the second time.
The member of the NA Civil Contract Faction Aleksey Sandikov noted that four CIS member countries participated in the project in previous years, and this year the number is already eight.
80 students from different regions of Armenia and Yerevan schools applied to participate in the project. 15 were selected through a competition with the support of the RA Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport.
On May 13, the MP met with the schoolchildren who won the competition in the Parliament.
Aleksey Sandikov presented the project in detail. It will start on June 20 and end on July 6. The participants will be in 15 cities of Russia and Belarus with the ‘memory train’, will visit places of military glory of the Great Patriotic War, will participate in various events dedicated to the victory over Nazism in the Great Patriotic War.
The MP expressed hope that the Armenian schoolchildren will have the opportunity to gain new knowledge and make friends, and the impressions they will get thanks to the project will be unforgettable.
