RA Prime Minister: Since 2018 Revolution, Armenia’s economy has grown by almost 30%

On May 29, the preliminary debates of the annual report on the execution of the 2023 state budget of the Republic of Armenia began at the joint sitting of the Standing Committees of the National Assembly.

The RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, the RA NA President Alen Simonyan, the representatives of the legislative and executive powers were present at the sitting.

The RA Prime Minister touched upon a number of conceptual issues, noted that the state should be perceived as a toolset aimed at ensuring a good life, and the aspiration and the goal of the RA citizen should be to have a high standard of living.

“In my opinion, a person, a citizen wants to live and not suffer, a person wants to enjoy life, a person wants to love and be loved, a person wants to be free, prosperous, cheerful and happy, wants to live peacefully, justly and in a dignified environment. The state, the Republic of Armenia, should serve this purpose,” the RA Prime Minister underlined.

Nikol Pashinyan referred to the transformation of value system perceptions and mentioned that freedom is no longer enough for the RA citizen, because justice is needed, security is no longer enough: Peace is needed. According to his assessment, we did not notice that during the existence of our state, what we called security was quite dangerous. The Head of the executive body believes that peace can provide security. The Prime Minister also spoke about the review of the public’s attitude towards well-being and vitality.

Nikol Pashinyan is convinced that the people should understand why the state finances an expensive project. “If it is financing that, as a result, they live worse, feel less free and happy, that state will lose its meaning for a person,” the Head of the Executive stated.

The RA Prime Minister detailed the vision of an efficient state and recorded. “An effective state is a state capable of constantly changing and developing in a changing world, making decisions adapted to challenges and goals, and this is the only formula that will ensure the permanence and the viability of the state.”

The Prime Minister of the country spoke in detail about the national values ​​ of the RA people, the change in the perception of the Army, and the necessity for reforms in the educational system.

“In the changing world, we must be a Government, Parliament and governing majority capable of constantly changing and developing, making decisions adapted the challenges and goals. This is the goal setting and achievement that we have with the results of spending the state budget for 2023 and we must continue to serve this purpose,” Nikol Pashinyan stated.

In the context of budget allocations, he highlighted the fact that 8.7% economic growth was recorded in 2023.

Nikol Pashinyan spoke in detail about the key reasons for emigration, the importance of overcoming the clerical feudal mentality, the concept of job creation, unemployment reduction trends, income from taxes and duties, income tax refund policy, salary growth tendencies and a number of manifestations of the state budget policy.
