In 2023 Ministry of Economy implements 25 measures in the framework of 5 programmes

In 2023, within the framework of 5 programmes the Ministry of Economy implemented 25 measures. 64bln 784mln AMD was planned, 62bln 722mln actually was spent, providing 96% performance. The sum of money has increased by 15% compared with the previous year. The RA Minister of Finance Vahe Hovhannisyan said this.

On May 31, at the joint sitting of the NA Standing Committees on Economic Affairs and on Financial-Credit and Budgetary Affairs chaired by Babken Tunyan and Tsovinar Vardanyan the annual report on Execution of the RA State Budget for 2023.

Before touching upon the implemented measures during the financial period, the RA Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan presented information on macro-economic situation of 2023. According to him, as to the results of 2023, the GDP exceeded 9.5 trillion AMD. The growth made 8.7%. The GDP was 8200 USD in Armenia for one person, increasing by more than 24%.

As the rapporteur informed, 19.2bln AMD was allocated to the implementation of 20 measures stemming from 4 programmes. The specified plan was 16.8bln AMD, the actual performance – 14.7bln AMD or about 80%.

7.7bln AMD was allocated for the implementation for 5 measures by 1 programme, the actual performance was 97% in the sphere of tourism.

In the sphere of economy, within the framework of the state policy-making, the programme coordination and monitoring 1 programme and 9 measures were implemented, the actual performance was 2.7bln AMD.

The budget approved for the implementation of the goals and problems of the RA commercial representatives in the World Trade Organization and in the foreign states was 310.7mln AMD, and the performance – 60.6mln AMD. The budget approved for economic studies and analyses measure was 27.4mln AMD, the performance – 25mln AMD Gevorg Papoyan underscored that within the framework of the measure sectoral, thematic researches, analyses and assessments were made in terms of disclosure of opportunities and obstacles of the export boosting, business and investment environment.

14.5mln AMD was addressed to the event of foreign official trips, the performance was also 14.5mln AMD.

The specified budget of the implementation of the programme Public awareness events to the state support programme being implemented by the Ministry was 137mln AMD, the performance was almost the same.

Gevorg Papoyan also voiced other measures implemented by the Ministry in 2023.

The Minister answered the deputies’ questions, which referred to the efficiency of the expenditures, the development of tourism, the export boosting, the gender-sensitive budgeting, the programmes supporting the business environment because of the disaster in Tavush and Lori marzes/regions.
