Some fundamental amendments being designed in the Tax Code arose certain questions for the entities: The Deputy Chair of the RA NA Standing Committee on Economic Affairs Babken Tunyan said this.

On May 2, 2024 the parliament passed in the first reading the draft law on Making Amendments and Addenda to the RA Tax Code and the package of the enclosed presented draft laws authored by the Government.

On June 7, a work debate on the proposing amendments was held in parliament, in which representatives from the legislative and executive bodies, the Chamber of Advocates, the Notarial Chamber, Public Defender’s Office, as well as the private sector took part.

During the debate, reference was made to the human rights’ activities, in case of the change proposing applicable sales tax rates the probability of an increase in the price of legal aid services, the further work of the companies implementing activities in the public food sector in the marzes and the transitional provisions of the legislative initiative.

The Deputy Chair of the Committee Babken Tunyan, the Deputy Minister of Finance Arman Poghosyan answered the questions raised during the debate and observations.

Babken Tunyan noted that the general purpose of the amendments is to make everybody work in the general tax system.

Summing up the debate he mentioned that they will try to give balanced solutions as far as possible.
