The initiative authored by the Government is aimed at designing effective toolset for law enforcement bodies in combatting cybercrime: The RA Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Arpine Sargsyan said.

According to the rapporteur, increase of cybercrimes is noticed, and conditioned by that, a necessity arose to give the law enforcement system relevant toolset, which will allow to make the fight more targeted.

It is proposed to define the list of cybercrimes in the Criminal Code. “This will let the law enforcement system to clarify the volumes of the work through specialized sub-divisions.

Some specifications are also made on crypto-active market by the package.

According to Arpine Sargsyan, the initiative was debated in the Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs, and an agreement was reached to continue the debates from the first to the second reading, especially in the context of the legislative initiative being proposed by the Central Bank.

The member of the Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs Lilit Minasyan presented the endorsement.

The bill on Making addendum to the RA Criminal Code and the package of the enclosed presented bills was debated in the first reading and passed at June 13 NA sitting.

The deputies debated in the second reading and also passed the package of bills on Making Amendment and Addendum to the law on Legal Persons’ State Registration, the Legal Persons’ Separated Sub-divisions, State Accounting of the Institutions and Individual Entrepreneurs and on Making Addendum to the law on the Rights of the Participants of the Pension System Accumulative Component and Additional Guarantees of Protection of Legal Interests.

As the key rapporteur, the RA Deputy Minister of Justice Armenuhi Harutyunyan informed, amendments were not made during the period from the first to the second reading.

Covering the agenda, the parliament ended the work of the regular sittings.
